are motive gears really that loud?

ive got my 14 sf apart in the garage painted,

elocker on the way and master kit on its way

going to put 4.88 in the truck

should i get the 275 dollar yukons or the 175 dollar motive ring and pinion set

anyone have any complaints against motive?

i got some 3.73s man there not loud at all bro i havent had a problem with them i hade them for about a year already

I have 4.56 motive gears in my 14b sf. Had a little noise when first installed, with break-in oil. Switched to royal purple and have been quiet ever since.

Gear noise is usually from a bad install. I have set up many discount gear sets to be OEM quiet.

^ agreed, incorrect backlash will cause that whine. When the G80 was replaced with a Trutrac, I had AAM gears put in. They whined at first but after the breakin period it was adjusted and have been quiet ever since.
