mechanical locker

whats a mechanical locker look like? i oulled the cover on the 12 bolt my friend and i pickjed up and it has a wierd look slid pin keeper looking thing in the centers of the carrier. you barely turn one tire and the other one locks, loks different than my old camaros posi just wondering what it might be. looks like it has a ton of teeth too.

Hey on this topic does anyone know if the carrier in a six lug SF 14 bolt is the same as the carrier in an 8 lug SF 14 bolt??
both being a g80

i dont think so one is like 9.25 and the other 10.5 or something along those lines.

full floater is completely different. to me that pic looks a lot like the stock g80 in a 14bolt sf, im not familiar with 12bolts but maybe similar design.

i can barely move it an both wheels lock together and wont move seperately. i know a posi will move seperate until a certain amount of force is applied.

the g80s aren't posi units, look up gov-loc

reading up on it, i do not thing thats what this is but it must be, looks like the same thing maybe its just broken or not even been used.
