Long time lurker, first time poster.

Does anybody know where I could buy a quality locking fuel door? I live in a less than ideal neighborhood and have had my tank siphoned in the past. I'm not a big fan of locking caps, because of past experience with quality. (corrosion/cold issues) I haven't been able to find any posts about this particular subject that are recent/have working links.

Thanks in advance!
Amazon has some: https://www.amazon.com/s?i=automoti...=1997-47-454------------1&ref=sx_pf_dsk_mvftr

Honestly, I hate the locking gas caps. I had bought a 94 Buick LeSabre a couple years ago with a locking gas cap and it took me a half an hour to get the damn thing unlocked. It must've been a cheap one that the PO put on it.

I hate the caps too. I've been locked out of my tank twice, because they have refused to open. Once because the internals corroded, and eventually broke while trying to open it. The other time, was ~40 below and the internals broke, because it was colder than a mortician's mistress.
My problem with the Amazon doors, are they are either cheap, aluminum, or both. Aluminum and steel in the rust belt is a bad combo!

I had the same problem with thieves siphoning my fuel. I installed a locking gas cap but they broke that by simply applying enough pressure to break the plastic. I then purchased a locking fuel door off of Amazon; just type in "GMT 400 locking fuel door." I haven't had any problems since installing the locking fuel door.

I never liked the locking doors on our trucks because most manufacturers never accounted for that little finger dimple in the body.

Guess there's no real clean way of doing that on an aftermarket production scale. I suppose most that siphon gas are just looking for quick and easy vehicles anyway.

Sorry to hear about your troubles! Hope you find a reliable solution. :waytogo:
