Keyless Entry Remote?

So the 98 I'm picking up Friday doesn't have the keyless entry remote, someone apparently lost it over the years. I know I can get them on eBay, but which one specifically? I've been very happy with the one I got off eBay for my Tahoe. Could someone with a 95-99 OBS post a pic of theirs? Can they be programmed yourself or would I have to go to a dealer?

You can program them yourself, I just took mine to a Chevy dealer, they had the remote in stock, only $20 or so, and programmed it for me. You HAVE TO tell me if this truck honks when you lock it, lights flash, or anything. This is a mystery and I would like mine to do it. lol..if you ever have seen the thread about it here.

Yes you can program it yourself, there is another thread somewhere that I posted the instructions an a link to them.

You need a remote with the numbers

16245102 or 16245100-29 or 16207901-5

Mine would honk when I hit lock twice as well...until my keys went swimming I still haven't replaced the remote yet...

Yep same here, honks if I hit lock twice. Or 3 times. Or 4 times...
