I replaced the ignition control module and this yellow wire was connected to it somewhere, no idea how. I assume it’s a wire that was used when some idiot poorly installed a remote start years ago but before I removed it I just wanted to be sure.

Not stock at all, if it was connected to a wire that goes from the ignition module to the coil it was likely the tach sense for the aftermarket remote start. It's how the remote start knows to disengage the starter because the engine is running.
