Changed out spark plugs and noticed this beside the #8 plug on passenger side...looks like a sensor but doesn’t have anything plugged in it. Does it supposed to....don’t see a loose connector anywhere. Thanks!

The temp sender for your gauges is usually on the driver's side between cylinders 1 & 3. Sometimes, if someone wants electric fans, they'll install the temp sender where you're showing otherwise, it works as a great plug in your water jacket.

Check your driver side head between the #1 and #3 cylinders to see if you have the same type of sender there, and if it's plugged in. That's where the temp gauge sender is from factory. If so, then the one on the passenger side does not need to be connected. The heads swap from side to side, and not knowing the history of your truck, just guessing - someone could have easily put a "driver side" head on the passenger side.

Ok thanks. Yes driver’s side has same sensor but it is connected. I think I may be good!
