If you go to a tire size calculator and put in the sizes the 17's are taller.... Plus most 17" rims are 9" wide. 16" rims are 8" wide. You could actually probably run 285's on the 16's and get the look your going for.

If I don't go with a 17x9" rim I would rather go with a 15x8 and run some mickey T's or some Eagle 058's
