Anyone know what this came out of? Suburban, maybe? Year compatibility?
We were gonna swap out a 95 Silverado until I learned that wouldn't work lol.

1998-2000 truck/suv chassis (pick your poison insofar as model). 1995 is a stand alone year for the 4L60E...DO NOT swap in a used 4L60E ffs...I have rebuilt more than my fair share of "used" transmissions that people wasted time and money installing only to have them fail shortly thereafter.

Rebuild your 1995 completely and correctly and it will last a long time.

Can second this! When my trans in my 94 went I put a cheap $300 150k trans into it to save money. It’s already shifting extremely funny into 2nd gear(very hard and also very slow shift at high rpm(feels like it’s “double shifting from 1-2)) and also 3rd is starting to slip a bit when it’s cold, probably from worn clutches.

Definitely do it right and have it rebuilt or follow a guide to rebuild it at home.

Nick has a great thread about the differences in transmissions by year. As he stated already, 1995 is a standalone model year. You're going to have to rebuild. Even if you did find another 95, it's 28 years old.

If you have the factory OE service manual, this is what it would shown you. With that an easy search.

I believe that is going to be a 98-99 trans due to no top center hole in the bellhousing (gen 1 engine)
You're correct; 1998-2000 (I updated my post. At first glance, I initially thought I saw a bolt hole at the 12 oclock position. If it did have one, it'd be a late 2000-2003 owing to the 2-plug mlps that's installed. 2004-2008 had a single plug then in 09+ it was eliminated.
