Word, I have seen this happen, especialy in Nissan's and Volvo's with a steel thread in PCV valve, the chevy type that push in the valve cover will usually pop out of the valve cover with enough pressure but the thread in type won't so something is going to give somewhere!

Before my OBS I had a '93 Nissan D21 with a 4-cylinder. Not only is the PVC threaded into an air-oil separator, it's about a 3-4 hour job to replace, since it's deep on the side of the engine, under the intake manifold. Mine was bad and it made the engine kick out oil past the front main seal.
