Howdy everybody I like to introduce myself. It's a pleasure to meet and talk to everyone. Hopefully I could add something to this forum and collective.
I recently purchased a truck that was getting ready to go to the scrap yard. I got a 1998 k2500 with a good good wrench 350 crate engine. I purchased a truck for $800. I put a transmission freshly rebuilt 4l80e on it and it's on its way to being a road/ranch truck.

Just want to say hello and thanks for having me.

Sounds like a good deal! Trucks are expensive these days, sounds like you are putting in the work and will come out ahead in the end.

I'm from California too, I'm originally from the central valley but spent that last 15ish years in Santa Cruz and the Monterey/Salinas area before jumping ship and moving to eastern WA.
