This is the second time in two years I've had the front passenger side axle shaft pop free, and in turn chew up my thrust washer. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? The first time was likely a result of my propensity to spend time in snowy ditches and things of that nature. This time, I think I could have knocked it out when changing the (original) ball joints and steering components last weekend - there was certainly a good bit of violence going on - rivets... however, I figure it doesn't hurt to ask in case I'm missing something. Anything besides bearings and seals I should be checking to be certain there's no further damage? Anyone know where to get a new thrust washer other than the Chevy dealer? Thanks much.
