did any “light duty” 2500s have an 8.25 diff?
Mine from a 400 burb has the mounting pad angled pretty severely maybe 45°? I’ve seen numerous 800 diffs and they were all either parallel to the ground or slightly angled.

If it's a 6 lug it got the smaller diff, if its 8 lug it got the bigger diff. 1500/2500 doesn't matter.

I need the smaller diff, I want the 3.73 gears so they match the back. I’m swapping the rear 10 bolt for a 14 bolt 6 lug axle with limited slip. I’ll check the local junkyard tomorrow if they have any front diffs with the 3.73s

Whatever truck you get the rear end from should also have the correct front diff. Good choice on the rear end swap, I did the same thing on mine and I'm 100% glad I did.

And just FYI, if you don't already have the rear end, be aware that you can't convert an 8 lug rear axle to 6 lug. I tried that and the brake mounts were off.

The 9.5 came in the 5.7 equipped trucks unless you ordered the bigger diff, The 7.4 equpped trucks came with the 10.5 diff. ALL of the Dual rear wheel trucks got the bigger diff.
