Looks good. What kind of welder are you using that it pops thru? I use a Lincoln weld pak 100 wire feed with a mig conversion. I have an 80 cu ft bottle of shielding gas. For sheetmetal I use .025" wire, heat setting A, and a feed speed between 2 and 3. On thin stuff like body sheetmetal it helps to strap it from the back side to support both pieces. Light tacks with spacing in between and cool down time. And keep tacking and letting it cool until it's a solid bead. It takes time this way but is solid, and you wont get rust bubbles popping up at the seams.

It's a hobart ironman 230 I think.. useing 035.. all I have.. I can usually not burn through sheet metal but I'm at a weird angle.. (excuses excuses) took me about 40 min.. cooling it with a wet paper towel and going in a criss cross pattern but it's done.. got a tad bit of filler on and sanded it down abit then a thunderstorm rolled in.. done for the day.. sounds like cannons going off in the sky.. pre fireworks

is it ok to use filler on small dents, like quarter sized?
edit: I'm not a whole lot knowledgeable on body work
Yes. Most of us will pull most of the dent out (if possible) then use a thin layer of filler to make it straight.

Many people put filler over rusty metal, paint the truck, then sell it without letting the next owner know. Those people need to get kicked in the private parts.

I know they, or lows did for me years ago... the spray paint is maroon.. the paint I would think is to.. some kind of different shade.. one problem with having a repainted truck I guess.. and of course this 91 poped up locally I think it's overpriced but says it has 20k on new crate engine and trans, and need paint and a dash.. asking 6900.. just can't see spending that when it needs a paint job too.. but I want it!
