Interesting. In 1968 a brand new Baldwin-Motion Camaro was $3800. Run that through an inflation calculator, and it's less than $32,000. Try and buy a base model V8 Camaro on Carvana, and you're buying a car that's 8 years old.

Run it through a real world inflation calculator and you'll get different results.

When comparing prices (now versus in the late '60s), keep in mind that none of the following were on any of those old cars:
- air bags
- computerized vehicles
- 5 mph crash bumpers
- ABS brakes
- Check Engine lights
- rearview cameras
- lane-change warnings
- remote start
- power door locks
- in-dash entertainment (unless you count AM/FM radio)
- etc.

Now do the calculations. ;)
