Looking to get educated on rear shock attachment styles. Working on a lifted k2500 I purchased an eyelet style shock absorber that accepts the standard half-inch bolt. As you all know the rear end of the gmt400 trucks uses a yoke style, or T, attachment method.

Are there any aftermarket yokes to press into these shocks, or conversion brackets to use on the attachment point of the truck to turn it to a through bolt style install?

Push the cross-piece out of the top of your existing shocks, hope it fits into the bushings of your new shocks?

Maybe replace the bushings as needed to suit the re-used cross piece? The Polyurethane suspension bushing companies have a selection of shock bushings. Energy Suspension, Prothane, etc.

Or:

Get some round steel rod of a diameter to suit the shock bushings, cut to length, and drill bolt holes to suit the bolt hole spacing in the truck frame? You'd need longer bolts, and it would be really nice to flatten the steel stock where it contacts the frame, and the bolt-head.

Or:

Buy correct shocks.
