I have a question regarding my ‘96 1500. I have the 5.7L vortec V8 and my cousin has praised the engine for being really good for performance as he mentioned that just headers and exhaust will have the truck pushing 300 whp. I’m pretty sure that just headers and exhaust won’t increase horsepower just like that but I do want opinions on what kind of potential this engine has in terms of tuning, performance and overall reliability. Because either way I’m gonna drive this truck till the engine gives out and I do an LS swap. Although I hear that the vortec engines are bullet proof.
