My 406 has a Comp 212in/218ex duration 112LSA .520 lift with 9.5:1 compression and Dart heads.
I wish the cam was a little smaller and the compression a little higher. Works the bomb, to be sure, but I don't care about the power above 4500 (of which there is plenty) and the idle is a little rougher than I'd like. I acknowledge that I used it for towing and highway cruising with nearly zero high RPM usage. At 2700rpm it will pull your **** off.

I actually have a smaller cam for my 11:1 383. Going from a 218/228 @ .050 on a 108 LSA to a 218/218 @ 0.050 on a 112 LSA. Lift is increasing from 0.536 to 0.544 with th same 1.6 rocker. My idle is also a bit rougher than I would like and the overlap prevents the engine from cruising smoothly under 1,500 rpm. At ~3,000 the 383 does not know a grade is in front of it even moving 14,000 lbs.

Though I whine about the idle, mine drives smooth as glass at anything off idle. My Circle-D converter flashes below 2k, a perfect match. I chose the cam I did knowing I could sacrifice a bit of bottom-end for more above, but in the end I never use the top. (not that the bottom is inadequate ever) Meh. Certainly not worth changing out, particularly since the truck is sitting in the yard for a year with the front smashed off it.
Anybody need a 400/Circle-D/4l80e/4.10 k2500 with a perfect extended cab? Can still drive it onto the trailer.

It's fun but, I've been thinking going a little milder and smaller duration with the 08-430-8

Either way, they both should do what's asked...
