I've got a 1991 1/2 ton and today the AC light started flashing in the green control panel. And the AC doesn't work at all. After driving for a few minutes the light stops flashing but the AC still doesn't work. Any idea what could be causing this ? Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks It might be better to contact me directly at [email protected] I don't think that would be against the policy of this sight. Thanks again

Low freon is my guess. Try having it charges.

That or the less-common false triggering of the low freon feature of the controls; there's a TSB out there about cutting/removing a wire to the controls to prevent this. However the much more common cause is like he said - low freon, compressor cycles too often, system disables it to prevent damage. Result is no A/C and the A/C icon on the controls flashing when you try to use it. You have to disconnect the battery or controls, either one will do, to temporarily clear this error and get the A/C running again to check it.
