Anyone have any experience with edelbrock cams in the Vortecs http://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-2209? Gotta pull and rebuild the motor this week (http://www.gmt400.com/forum/showthread.php?16562-5-7-Rod-Knock-just-bought-it) and want to drop in a cam while I'm in there. Assuming the worst, the block will be running .030" over and have regular federal mogul rebuild kit for the internals. Plan on dropping a pair of shorty ebay stainless headers on it while I'm in there.

My questions is will the OEM replacement melling lifters work with that cam? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mel-jb-2079/overview/? Also, what is invloved with doing the 6.0 valve spring swap? Ideally I just want to drop in the cam and rebuild the motor with no further power adders or other issues. I dont need crazy performance and will not be doing heads or anything beyond exhaust, intake and possibly tune in the future, but for now I just want some more low end for towing. Much appreciated guys.
