Not sure where to put this, but is sort of an engine question. I recently installed a 383 stroker to tow a travel trailer. It runs great and has a lot of power. I keep reading that something like the ECM or something like that needs to be updated or "re-flashed? Is that necessary and how do you do it?

It's a 94 K-1500 GMC

You should since you're changing stuff like displacement, maybe lift and duration, intake, etc. Is it the same Throttle Body? You'll be running lean if so. There are guys over on Gearhead-EFI that can help you with it. If you want to do it yourself you'll need to do a lot of research and get a way to burn/flash your calibration. Another way, of many, is to get the Moates Ostrich 2.0 (it replaces you chip) and flash away...
