I'm pretty sure an 88-94 truck will have the same door panels. I believe it was in 95 that they changed the interior.

88-94 have the same switch panels, but some of the door's inserts are different. different armrests and inserts and handles.
So I would definitely look for a pair.

Correct. The '88-'89 door panels and switches are slightly different than the '90-'94. They should just be a simple swap if you have the panels and switches, though. '95 was the first year for the new door panels.

Can you use the new door panels 96 and up in a 90 model truck? Has anyone tried this?

Yes, you can. A friend of mine did this. Even though the lines don't perfectly match up with the dash, it really doesn't look bad at all.

I have had '93 power option door panels, '88 manual locks/windows & now '91 manual option panels. All have a little tweek to them but all fit just fine.

Yes, but those are all basically the same design and all are designed for the '88-'94 interior. It's a bit more involved when swapping to the '95-'98 door panels.
