Wanted to start debading my truck. What is the best way to not scratch the paint after I get the emblem off? Including tailgate emblems and the 'SLE' badge behind the rear 1/2 windows. Thanks.

Just like these guys said.

Personally, I used a heat gun and tore em off, but I had chrome rocker panel guards and they ripped the clear coat off - which is why i lined my rockers... but with all the stock moldings - a heat gun and eraser wheel do wonders.

What sucks serious ass is that my 98 has a tailgate off of a 88-91 and it has the big ol ugly GMC in the middle. What's even worse is that the letters look like the are riveted into the tailgate. Guess I'm gonna have to find a 92 up tailgate so I can put better looking (newer style) GMC logos on it.
