Well I had a very busy weekend with getting the truck all painted and getting the new headlights and tail lights installed. Took about 8 hours total but thats because theres an hour flash time between coats and I needed to wait a few hours for the upper green panels to be dry enough so that I could get it taped up to paint the lower half. Overall I am very happy with how it turned out.

I am not sure what you meant by that question but my over all plans are to lift it about 4", run some 35's, additional led off road lights and eventually I would like to put a winch bumper (with winch) and build a custom off road flatbed.

That's exactly what I meant, looking forward to the rest of the build.

This weekend was a really great one. My diamond eye 4" full exhaust came in as well as the new crossover pipe. I had been spraying the rusted bolts all week and with some patience I was able to get them all removed without breaking any. The exhaust sounds great now, can definitely hear the turbo spool up. And the butt dyno tells me the truck gets up and goes easier now. My brother in law also surprised me with some updated tow mirrors so I got those installed as well. And lastly, I picked up some Incubus 511 Off Road wheels with some used 315/70/17 tires. Next thing will be to get a lift on the truck so I can fit the wheels.

I cried when you sanded the paint because it was a perfect combo, but now I'm happy you kept the GM Emerald Green, looks good! could we get a sound video for that 4" diamond eye?

Thanks, if the paint would have been in decent condition then I would have left it. I love the combo as well. I'll try to get a video recorded and posted tomorrow. Hopefully the quality will come through good. I did keep the muffler in for now but I may getting the available muffler delete pipe because it is surprisingly quiet right now.

Man it has been forever since Ive been able to post anything but the truck has definitely come a long way. In the last 2 months I did a pretty major overhaul by replacing all of the injectors, glow plugs and a bunch of gaskets in the process. I also installed an EGT and Boost gauge to monitor future performance mods. And most recently I finished up installing a Rough Country 6" lift kit along with some wheels and tires. Tires are 315/70/17 and at 40 psi they currently measure out to be exactly 33". Tires came with the wheels so I definitely want to step it up to something that will sit in the 35" range. Here are some pictures of the progress...

The old injectors and plugs didn't seem to bad but I had alot of smoke on the initial start up which could have been a leaky injector.

The boost peaks around 7-8 psi and then settles in around 5ish. Cant wait to get it tuned.

    And then the final product.

There has been other upgrades done as well that I forgot to takes pictures of. I ended up putting sound deadening material in all of the doors, rear side panels, back panel and roof of the cab. It hasn't made a huge change in quietness but it definitely improved a lot of droning and rattling that was previously heard. I also installed all new Kicker speakers in the rear, JBL speakers for the doors, new Sony Bluetooth stereo and a slim 10" subwoofer. The truck now has an enjoyable sound system.

Also while doing the suspension install I ended up having to replace the pitman arm, all ball joints and tie-rods as the ones on the truck were completely shot. This has significantly removed all of the rattles in the truck when going over bumps and the steering has almost no play in it anymore.

Plans for the next few months will be to install torsion bar relocaters and move the rear axle forward 14" in order to improve the break over angle. Then chop the frame a bit off the rear and build an off road flatbed. At some points I also would like to install a winch bumper with a winch and hopefully take a trip to Moab, Utah this upcoming year.

Loving the build so far! People really underestimate bedliner paint jobs. They are perfect for offroad rigs, work trucks etc
