The newer generation of 3.5 is different from the 90s one. Mom has an 04 Pacifica with the newer 3.5, in transverse position, and it's way different than the older one. For instance, you have to pull the upper intake manifold to change the spark plugs....and I don't want to even think about how not-fun the water pump/ timing service is gonna be!My wife's '09 Chrysler 300 has the 3.5 V6. The tensioner broke off and was rattling around. I drove the car twenty miles home, took the timing cover off and said, "Oh, $#!+!" I'm still not sure how it didn't jump time.
It's a Chrysler when you're cruising, a Mercedes when you're wrenching.
