When we moved from Merrill Oregon to Los Banos CA I had to get a scale ticket for my 84 Dodge W150 (was ~5500#) to register it in CA. Back then (in 85) you could register it as a car but then, you couldn't legally haul anything other than a jack and a spare tire.License plates in Texas are done by vehicle weight now. Too many people were registering trucks, SUVs and vans as cars to get the cheapest plates fees. Yes we did that too...it was a lot cheaper which is why people were doing it!
What the heck! I've never hear of this! LOL. What an absurd law! When we moved from Merrill Oregon to Los Banos CA I had to get a scale ticket for my 84 Dodge W150 (was ~5500#) to register it in CA.
