Well I was thinking just clearing it for now till I get the bodywork done on my truck. This winter did more damage to fenders/wheel arches than I had originally thought

Nope. It's only come off in 2 places. Where I kicked my rear bumper with my boot, and on my bed rails where the toolbox was yanked across them. That'd make regular paint come off

Scuff, rattlecan with a decent paint and clear. Alternatively, most shops will only charge a couple bills to shoot your hood if you bring it to them and they do a good job of color matching.
