Cargo light switch wires

Since my cargo light doesn't work I'm wanting to use the switch for other lights I have. Which wire is the power wire to the switch? There are two orange wires one has a black stripe

Test light? I'm 90% sure the wire without the stripe is the hot

Believe it or not it was totally backwards from that haha but I'm happy with it other than that switch being hot at all times
