This is a repost of sorts. Lifted truck 4 inch Tuff country. Zero issues I mean zero I. Two wheel drive. Aligned perfect. No noises ect.
I put into 4wd and bang. I do t get 40 yards. Second time happened. Was in snow and started to bang bang bang the. This happened. I added 1/2 wheel spacers each side first time happened. I got 1/2 spacers again so I can do a total of 1 each side, after another axle is installed. Could spacers be issue? Could diff be broke? This sucks.
Running 33s x 12s. Nothing crazy.

If I had to take a guess something going on with the diff. Did you say if you put it in 2wd it can drive no issues?

IDK, could be something internal or, maybe you have different gear ratios front to rear? Something like 3.73s in front and 4.56 in the rear?

How much of an angle are on the shaft's? I don't know much about ifs lifts but that could be a issue. How long has the lift been installed? Has it been on the rig for a while or is it a new addition.

Drives zero issues 2wd. 80 all day highway. Lift is 4 inch and new. Never had issue before lift was installed. It’s stock 4.11s all around. I’m wondering if diff is screwed up some how. Was fine before lift installed

I'm thinking "torque windup".

How much did the lift change (increase) the angle on those tri-pot joints on the inboard side of the half-shafts?

Larger tires have more leverage on the drivetrain.

Those are two factors.

Now, give a few more details about the exact conditions when things broke, and I'll speculate. For example,...

If you said "I had it in 4x4 lock" and any of these factors were in play:

- one or more tires isn't the same diameter, e.g., due to air pressure or wear, and / or

- the vehicle was in a turn

then I would say "I think I have an answer".

Tell us more :)

hahaha. Tires are brand new. First time it broke left turn, second time straight ahead on pavement both times. Very light pedal as well. I’m talking under 15 mph.
