How long have the new shoes been in? I wonder if they need more time to scrub the old deposits off and finish bedding in?

I have had the new shoes on for right at 1,000 miles. It started a couple hundred miles ago. It stops fine just loud when this happens. Only happens at low speeds just before the truck completely stops. I'll see if I can get them resurfaced and if that don't work I'll see what new ones cost..

Sorry if this has already been covered. I have not followed the whole thread.
Did the metal to metal contact between the shoes and backing plates get grease? Are there worn divots that need to be welded and smoothed?
