So I did the swap 2 days ago and it sucked, had a massive vacuum leak and slam bang shifts. Last night I addressed the vacuum leak and modded the TPS to reclock it as it was showing something like 17% at idle. Also reset the idle and WOT stop screws and tightened the jam nuts that came nice and loose from the factory. Overall I'm pleased with the throttle body, but it seems I'm not done reclocking the TPS.

I'm getting a P0122 which is TPS circuit low. I'm not sure what exactly that means, though I definitely had to swing that TPS well past factory zero as you can see. Maybe the TPS is supposed to relearn or something? Hopefully the folks on the EFILive forum can point me in the right direction.
So on the test drive the first night, I did see a slight increase in throttle response but it was overshadowed by the TPS reading artificially low which still caused the truck to downshift like crazy. Last night I made a huge discovery: the 350 uses linear linkage and a TB blade lip to get progressive (AKA garbage) response whereas the big block uses actual progressive linkage. This TB was equipped with a progressive linkage as delivered but thankfully also included a linear arm as you can see from left to right is big block, small block, and Summit.

So what did I gather from all of this? Well you can't just slap a small block arm on a big block as they clearly draw from opposite sides and the cruise would never work, but there is a factory bolt on and go option that will convert your big block to linear and it's the LS1 car throttle body. If you have an automatic trans big block I HIGHLY recommend bolting one on and enjoying a much better OD holding ability and upshifts that don't hang and take FOREVER, plus a TCC that will actually lock and stay locked.

Same OD on the outlet side, but you can see that the housing is thinner and less restrictive. I think there's a company out there that sells aftermarket housings for the early MAFs too but I'm drawing a blank as to who it is. So hopefully I don't break anything dragging the trailer tomorrow with the slam/bang shifts, it's time to pick up the Z06 from paint.
