Bad Fuel pump??????

my 1998 1500 wont start,Noticed i cannot hear the fuel pump prime when i turn the key on. Pulled the Relay and tested it,showed it was good.hooked an electric test light up to the fuel pump relay plug in the fuse block and it never lit up when i turned the key on.From what i understand it should light up indicating fuel pump priming.

i searched in both fuse blocks and none were labeled fuel pump?

Mine was on the firewall

EDIT ........Nevermind I just checked my 97 and its not like my 90 sorry

Check the ECM fuse

also do you think a failing fuel pump could cause, idle air control and 02 sensor codes? Yesterday my truck ran awesome then out of nowhere it fell on its face and threw those codes and i figured a bad idle air control valve was to blame

the ECM fuse is good so bad pump

Replaced pump with a new carter unit.Runs fine and gauge works now

Watch out with that pump...I hear people have problems with anything but delco and Delphi pumps. Did you drop the tank or lift the bed?

Well Damn!!! lol,the Delphi was just a lil more I wanted it but short on cash.and I found it easier to drop the tank.the bed bolts looked a lil hard to access. only took like 2 hours
