Aftermarket stereo is draining the battery

I put in a whole new system about five years ago, and after about a year and a half had the same problem as OP....If the truck sat for more than a day or two had a dead battery.
Ended up tracking it down to the amp.....even though the power light for the amp would go off, it was draining the battery. Since the amp worked perfectly otherwise and was out of warranty, I just ran the main amp power wire through a relay that would only let the power through when the key was on and voila......no more dead battery!

Hmm ok thanks man, I know I checked the power light but I don't remember if I actually checked with a multimeter or not. I'll look into that, thanks man.
