Is there a way to reset the ABS on a 97 k1500?

Do you mean re-set as in get the light to turn off?

Yes, I figured that unplugging the battery would do it but it won't.

unhooking the battery will reset it, but if have a hard fault it will turn the light right back on, time for a scan tool to see why it is on

do a quick check of the wiring going to the hubs, I've had a broken wire at the hub once that caused the issue. It's a good first step if you don't have access to a scanner.
