Update: I've started the truck by jumping a wire in the fuel pump relay plug , worked for an hour then died ..

Don't mean to bring up an old thread but I've had similar issues with my 88 TBI, done about 8 pumps in 2 months, some lasted a day or two, some lasted for weeks. Changed filter, relay, cleaned up the ground. Was told it might be high fuel pressure killing my pumps but being a youngin and having little experience with electronics and fuel injection I'm pretty stumped. Any ideas?
Do you mean the wires inside the gas tank, or leading to the tank?
From the Inside at the yellow plug the wires were burned.
