A/C Compressor Replacement

Along the same lines, what keeps us from using all components from newer, ostensibly better (and cheaper) model years? I look at replacement compressors, etc for the GMT400 then compare with NBS and NNBS, and the price difference is similar to what Bump is talking about. If memory serves me, when my truck was brand new, the AC lasted about 2 years-ish. I can't afford to replace the compressor every two years unfortunately.

Sorry Bump, I hope I don't jack your thread here, but hopefully we can just say screw the GMT400 AC systems and get something entirely better and cheaper.

not a problem. my original A/C lasted 8 years or so. if i was to change all the parts, i might get that much out of one again.
