Took some time today to take the Z71 fog lights off my suburban to clean them up some.

I took the light apart from the mount, let the mount soak in dawn and then cleaned them good, then I separated the lens from the housing and painted the bottom of the housing to match my headlight housings. Then i resealed the light, hit it with 600, 800, 1000, 1500, and 2500, then buffed it with rubbing compound to clear it up.

I only got one side finished but here are the results.

New distributor is in! No more backfiring and my misfiring issue is mostly gone.
When I went to set the cmp, it read -40°, which is definitely not right. So right now it has a slight misfire at idle and high rpms. Will a case relearn make this reading accurate?

Another thing, the included hold down cannot come off this distributor without some persuading. This doesn't allow me much adjustment to set the cmp either.

Which distributor did you purchase? Stock replacement or something different?

Gotta get that Cmp within +/- 2 degrees with the engine idled up to 1000-1200 rpm. I've always done it this way. Never had a problem!
