98 Sierra Body drop in progress

ok so I body dropped my truck 2.25 and already welded the back of the cab and ready to fill the sides and firewall. Its a ext cab.
I have a couple questions. for the filler plates is a 16g plate thick enough? should i weld a thicker plate for the body mounts?
