I have a 4261 on my Express van. Same compressor as the 4440 with a slightly smaller pulley. I ordered mine directly from Sandens website and it shipped from Wylie, TX. Be sure to flush the system, change the orifice tube and accumulator. Also get a bottle of Sanden SP-15 as you will need more oil than Sanden ships that compressor with. I like the 4261 so far. AC is ice cold, the compressor ins very quiet and you barely feel it kick on power wise then again I have a 383.
Will I really need the extra oil if I am going to have a shop do the recharge? I' plan to let them know the compressor is new.

You will need extra oil. Sanden requires specific oil which is part of the reason you want to flush everything.

i run Sanden #4261 from UAC after finding this info bought it from rock auto with 5% off $171.93,it spins faster at idle since it has the smaller pully,it's friggen ice cold at idle now, hard to find the post so i added a pic

^^^ yes

I got the Sanden #4261 for the same reason. I have a Suburban with dual air and wanted the increased pumping capacity it provided at low RPM. Be watchful that you don’t overspeed the compressor, it’s easier to do b/c of the smaller pulley. I set my ECU to disable AC above 3000 engine RPM, conservatively. See the math, here: https://www.gmt400.com/threads/97-t...-replacement-ac-compressor.56822/post-1221254. Sanden's specs, attached below.

Too, above 3000RPM I don’t want the AC loading the engine as I’m probably passing or accelerating, and I'll willingly trade a moment's comfort for a bit of performance.

The typical Sanden replacement for our trucks is #4440.

I think I'll be fine with the #4440. I actually don't use the air much anyway, but it is one of those things that has been nagging to get fixed.
