My truck is A '95 K2500 Suburban with the 7.4L TBI.....I had been noticing a small pool of coolant lately and discovered that the water pump bypass hose was about ready to blow! I changed it and topped off the coolant for a sort trip into Virginia and back home. A couple weeks later, whilst replacing the ignition module, I noticed the overflow tank was below the "minimum" level. I removed the radiator fill/pressure cap to see just how low it was and discovered that the plastic neck is warped....see photos.Could this situation be enough to let pressure/coolant out?....especially when things get hot and possibly distort even more? I did inspect the seals in the pressure cap, but not really the pressure spring.
Has anyone else had issues with the plastic tank and filler neck warping and distorting after a few years/miles. This radiator was replaced by the PO in July 2012 at a local Chevy dealer. It is an AC DElco number 21371. If this is a problem, what are some respectable alternatives to the GM/AC Delco radiator?....because it was $395 five years ago and are well over $400 now.....

400..... dam.... just buy a good radiator from you favorite parts store... even 1800radiator has them for 200 or so and under depending on your options...

I use Napa pretty exclusively at my shop.. never had any issues with them in customers vehicles or my own for that matter. And you can do these radiators in under an hour usually they are so easy...

Have you called a local radiator specialist? Its possible they could "weld" a new neck on it for you. Our local radiator shop can do them on plastic tank radiators that come through our shop here, albeit these are tractors.
