Next thing for the big block is to help it breathe a little better hope it's worth the effort.

I hate the 3 bolt collector on headers so that's getting replaced with v bands and upgrade to a 3 wire o2

Also anyone have recommendations for header paint?

I'm a big proponent for ceramic coating them. It does make a difference in heat transfer, and it is a more durable coating. The headers in my Z28 have been in there for over 10 years and still look great.

Well things have made a huge change. Someone I know needed a older 454 and just happened to have a 8.1 and we did an even trade.

Got the engine pressure washed now tearing it down for new seals and paint.

Frame, inner fenders, rad support has been cleaned and painted didn't take any pics.

So got the 8.1 tore down to reseal/paint also acid washed the aluminum parts to give them that "new" look followed by a coat of satin clear and against my better judgement i decided to add a raylar bp202 cam and roller rockers since i was in there to give it that little bit extra. lol

Had a spare rad support that i ended up using to replace mine, appears a battery may had exploded at one time with the way the paint was ate away on the fender and how bad it rotted the metal on the rad support, I am also redoing all the loom in cloth tape with a different style loom instead what factory used.

Learned about the 8.1 having a very restrictive intake after a extensive conversation with Larry from Raylar, so cut open the intake to do what he called the intake mod. The intake is at a friends shop getting welded back up
