I have a '91 K1500 with a 4.3 and a getrag/nv3500 with an external slave cylinder. The transmission is very noisy and on it's way out. I have a good '97 nv3500 (internal slave cylinder) and would like to swap that in seeing as they were a better design.
I have done quite a bit of searching and have found one person who cut/modified the firewall to accept the 95+ master cylinder, however it seems like quite a bit of work and I would prefer to stick with the bolt on style. My only concern is that the bore/stroke of the master cylinder isn't the same and wouldn't work properly with the internal slave cylinder, potentially holding the clutch partially disengaged or not disengaging the clutch completely. Has anyone used this combination before without issue?
