Didn't see a Stupid Transmission Question thread so here goes.
According to the Amsoil guide the 4L60e has an "initial fill" of 5 qts, and total capacity of 11.2qts.
The owners manual doesn't mention this at all.
I don't see any specification for deep/shallow pan, with/without aux cooler.
So basic question is... If I'm changing the fluid using the "drop the pan" method, how many quarts do I need to do a re-fill? I assume there is a decent amount remaining in the system without doing a full flush, and I'd like to avoid the potential problems generated in a full flush.
