Thinking about going to 4.56 gears running 35 inch tires. Anyone running this setup and how do you like it? And does it make an improvement in gas mileage. ...over 3.42s. Or would it be better to run 4.10s. I blew the pinion gear so I'm just trying to get ideas before I order.

I'll have my new 35's on tomorrow and i have 4.10's I'll let you know how it goes, i feel that it will be plenty low for a vortec 350. Mine is 5 speed tho.

4.56 might be a touch steep.

Check any of the numerous gear/rpm calculators online to see what rpm you'll be running at what speed.

Much over 2000 rpm means lower mpg at highway speeds.

Of course, lifting and installing 35's aren't going to do much for mpg anyways.

If that matters that is.

:)

I got 6 inch suspension and 3 inch body lift. Running 35s on 20s right now. May go to 37s later on. Each chart that I've looked at has something different. I estimate around 2600-2800 rpm at 65mph. Right now its just over 2100 at 65 with 3.42 gears. It doesn't like pulling a loaded car hauler behind it with that but it'll do it...just struggles a bit. I figured 4.56s would help me out with that to.

Not worried about the gas mileage so much. I've been getting around 12mpg the past 4 years so I'm use to it drinking gas lol.
