So my 2000 Denali is on its way out again, 10kish miles after i warrantied this rebuilt trans. Losing 4th when hot.

I have a wrecked 06 trailblazer SS. Trying to figure out my options. Is there ANY way i can use the 65e? perhaps with a 0411 PCM? I would eventually looking into swapping everything over, if its a lot of work doing it in 2 phases then i would just do it in one shot.

Edit: right now truck is stock minus whatever upgrades were put in trans

Not worth it for the work IMO. A 65E is only marginally stronger than a standard 60E. I would 4L80E swap the truck and be done with it.

It is a bit of work 80E swapping a 60E truck, but it beats rebuilding 60Es every 10K miles. Been there before. My 4.3L V6 truck killed two of them before I did the 80E swap. I only regret not doing it sooner.

Is your Denali a 2WD or 4WD? 2WD is easier for sure because you have one less driveshaft and no transfer case to worry about.

its a 4x4. In the end i will be doing the LS swap anyway from this TBSS, it would be easier hooking the 80e up to that i guess.

?? 80 bolts to either just as easily. Another 80 swapper here, nice to know the trans won't take a dump when I load the thing down and leave it in OD.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the electronics the same? I.E. bolt in, do the mods, flash the PCM, and go?

4l60e's can be built you just need to take it to someone that knows what there doing I got a transmission guy in Saskatoon SK and he has a rep for building some tough 4l60s he will be building mine if mine ever dies I'm at 360 000k and the 4l60e is still kicking never rebuilt. He's got customers with Camaros around 500hp and he even offers a decent amount of warranty on his work he's bin in business I think 37 years. I'm assuming he stuffs them full of them pricey delicious sonax parts.

The first generation 4L80E were different.. 1991-1993 i think had the weird wiring and stuff..
1994-1999? was the second generation with the current wiring but older style case.
2000+ were the same as far is i know with the LS pattern (missing bolt hole compared to previous generations or it had a extra hole in bell housing.. i cant rem.
but 1996+ should have the 2 holes in the side of the case for the park neutral safety switchs.

So 1996 - Current you should be able to flash the tune and ride.
