1994 Suburban C1500 Broken shock mount

Is that an SUV? (I see a rear tank) You can get new mounts for the trucks. I think they're riveted on.

Mine worked its way loose on my 97 Silverado, and cracked where the rivets are. I welded mine to the frame. In your case, I would replace the mounting bracket. They are riveted, and bolted, or mine was anyway.

Any problem with unintentional heat-treatment/hydrogen embrittlement when welding the bracket to the frame? I figured that's why they were riveted rather than welded by GM.

No issues what so ever. And I welded the crap out of it. Frames are just regular old steel. Nothing special. Its OK to weld on them. Ive been welding on frames for years.
