1993 K1500 Atchafalaya Baby

Just realized i never did a build / update to my baby. Back story of it. Uncle bought it new in 1993. Always told him i wanted it one day; just because i knew how he babied it. And the color!! He Worked for Exxon & drove it daily there and to hunting camp on weekends. Then bought a f150.. he Kept the z71 until around 2010, when my dad bought it for pawpaw since someone had rear ended him and neeeded a new . When he passed in 2018 it was left in the will to me. Maybe drove it 100 miles a week. Ever since then i have fixed it up here & there. Body has 192k miles on it, engine has app 60k. Backstory from what I remember around 120k it had some top end trouble. Was cheaper to drop a new engine in than fix the old one.

Starting interior.

Center console from a 2010 gmc. I like the 3 cupholder & flip down seat as compared to the flat original

Remount mirror controls and made new instrument panel for rocker switches.

also remounted stereo where oem is (for now) until i get a 1995 & up dash.

Weathertech custom fit floor mats . Fyi u have to order suburban or tahoe .

Window tint. 5% back 3 glasses, 20 % front 2.


Exterior

2” Receiver in front for removable winch mount

tow hooks removed and receiver bars mounted sideways to access tow hooks better.

light bar . Because every redneck gota have one

gmt800 cab lights. I like the clustered look as compared to 5 individuals

gmt800 style tow mirrors. Not a fan of the 2015 up style.

Signal & clearance light on tow mirrors.

Anderson style Power wire connectors for winch or jumper cables on front and rear. That way i can put winch on the rear if needed

chrome rocker panels removed, chrome wheeel trim removed, nerf bars removed.

added 2 tone paint scheme

18” chevy oem wheels from a 2014, with 33” patagonia m/t.

straight piped glasspacks. Because again every country boy gota have it.


I think thats all ive done. In the near future a 95 up interior swap, along with newer style seats. To match the center console. Only problem is finding a set that folds all the way forward. Since i dont have the 3rd door option.

Attempted dodge mirror but it was an epic fail. Got wrong year and didnt get good seal. Wiring was easy as i had gotten the controls & wiring from a 4500 we had sittin in the boneyard
