On the 8 lug 4WD the rotors don't slide off. They are pinned behind the outer flange of the wheel bearing. To replace the rotor the wheel bearing has to come off. And most of the 8 lug Full float the drums are pinned to the hub assembly some like someone posted have slide off. My 95 does not have that style. The 8 lug semi float axels the drum slides off.On my 95k2500, 6 lug, the drums and rotors slide off.
I believe having slide off drums depends on model year; my '92 dually truck has JB8 brakes with pressed on drums. I think I remember someone on here with a later model that had slide off drums though. Not rare at all. GM starting using them in 1973, I think.
$200 sounds like a pretty good price, Though. If they're the version with slide off drums (RPO code JB8) those would be great to grab, as many of the 14BFF had the drums held onto the back of the hubs, so the hub/axles have to come off to get to the brakes. JB8 also uses the wider shoes.
You can see the difference here: http://www.billavista.com/tech/Articles/14-Bolt_Bible/index.html under the heading "Type A and Type B Hubs"Well now I'm curious, LOL. How do you tell? Just remove the wheel and drum should just slide off...or not?
