We've got two things on our plate right now:

(1) Start shipping... we hope to get the first shipment out by Thu or Fri and more shipments next week. We just received those five pairs and they're enough to service only three orders.

(2) Order from our supplier... we've got two pairs of taillights for two buyers (yes, we have enough circuit boards) and umpteen pairs of headlights to order!

So these two items will be the focus through the end of the week. I'll post some pictures as we go along.

Update: Carlos ordered more headlights

Carlos placed an order today for 20 pairs of headlights, which will satisfy a portion of my current "buyer's list". We had previously ordered five pairs, which we've since received (see earlier posts), and we'll again order more once we've received and shipped most of our stock.

We wanted to include three pairs of taillights in this order but the supplier said he doesn't have stock... he told us he would see what he could do, which I might interpret as "check for stock elsewhere in the system". I'm sure we'll get the taillights eventually, but a month delay wouldn't surprise me.

Meanwhile, Carlos is working on acquiring some taillight circuit boards, used, from a seller in Argentina. AFAIK these are not available new anywhere, at least not in South America, so we buy them used; perhaps they might be available in Australia but that's TBD.

For those who care to know a bit more about how we ship the headlights and what it's like to own a pair, read on.

In a thread from early 2019 and later, when we first started sending headlights to the US, I found these posts and I think they're worth re-visiting:

First shipment of 2024:

Today Carlos shipped for the first time in 2024, posting the package at Correios' office at 1:34pm, destined to a US address; tracking shows it's already been routed from Jacobina to Salvador (e.g., https://www.gmt400.com/threads/acquiring-arteb-brazil-gmt400-headlight-reflectors.44133/post-1258031).

I've asked Carlos to launch two more shipments next week, which will consume our usable stock, amounting to four pairs. Our fifth pair, Carlos noted one headlight with an anomaly and he wants to take up the matter with the supplier; so for now the fifth pair's "on the shelf". Twenty more have been ordered, as I noted prior; as-yet I have no information on their shipment status.

I'm probably more excited about today's shipment then anyone. It's always fun, and a relief in a way, when the plan finally comes together. Sure, we've done this a number of times prior, but it's been perhaps a year since we were shipping headlights as fast as we could get them

Shipments...

Friday's shipment (see post #77) cleared Brazil customs in São Paulo this morning at 9:07am local time, and I expect will be on a plane today to Miami.

Carlos shipped another pair today, Tuesday; Monday was his target but heavy rains in Jacobina forced him to delay. He intends to ship another pair this Thursday.

The 20 pair order from our supplier is reportedly passing through São Paulo today, enroute to Carlos / Jacobina. If we're lucky Carlos will receive them by the end of next week.

There's a thread regarding the Arteb taillight wiring and circuit boards in which a GMT400 member from Australia, @Aussiecrewcab, will hopefully comment on whether the circuit boards are available new, either from GM or third-parties. The Arteb taillights were used on the GMT400s in that market. See https://www.gmt400.com/threads/wiring-changes-to-suit-arteb-taillights.63786/post-1374034

Quick update...

Last Friday's shipment landed in Miami this morning and is inbound into US customs.

Tuesday's shipment cleared Brazil customs this morning and should be on a plane to Miami

Today's shipment was just posted in Jacobina at 4:50pm local.

That's all four pairs of headlights that we had available, presently. The fifth pair is "on the shelf" as I mentioned earlier.

Meanwhile, the 20 pairs from our supplier did indeed pass through São Paulo yesterday on their way to Carlos / Jacobina (see prior post), picture attached.

Does Carlos still open all the packages and check for damage before sending them on to the customers? I just see that one box in the middle with a damaged edge.
