Along the way here, I have the stock 5.7 out of my '94 sitting on a pallet in Eastern Ohio. It has about 85k on it, new head gaskets when I bought it with 52k, shaved the heads a few thou to flatten them. Nice set of Comp rocker arms, 1.55 and 1.6 which with a flowmaster y-pipe gave it just enough whistle to say it was worth the money. If you want it, toss me a few hundred and go get it. I also have the spider etc. to put factory roller lifters in it if you wanted to go that way. It'll get you on the road quick and I can guarantee it's in fine shape.
Really appreciate the offer here man, means a lot! I have another car to use in the meantime, so thankfully I can afford to not have my truck for a little while longer and fix this thing. Thanks a ton though dude

I am sorry that happened to you.
It is a decades old scam that occurs in the car business and in the boat business.
These old predatory sweet talking liars take advantage of younger, less experianced people and women.
They are a bottom dwelling ******* plague that makes those of us who want you to be welcome to our little hobby feel like we have **** on our shoes.
My first reaction was to take that weak **** to court.
But, like everyone has mentioned.
You can legally ***** slap him into the dirt and get nothing but a lawyer bill.
It usually works like this.
The old bible saying. He is robbing peter to pay paul.
This guy cant warranty his work because he doesnt have any money.
The cash you gave him was spent on his food and bills and he needs another wallet to suck this month.
You need to take that engine all of the way back apart and start from scratch.
If he ****** you over on the money and the warranty just imagine what half assed ******** he did to the engine.
Hear you loud and clear on tearing the motor back down. I’ve learned a huge lesson here, never again dude. He lives in a junkyard and his only occupation is motors, so the fact that this motor is this ****** is pathetic. Stay tuned, I’ll be doing a rebuild on this 350, thanks for everything guys

Dont get to wound up about it my friend and dont doubt yourself.
Getting screwed over on an engine rebuild by some rotten old liar is pretty much a right of passage for us car guys.
We are all here because we are learning how to be good enough that we can be free from those crooked *****.
Keep at it.
It is not just cars, it is also the washer and the dryer and the water heater and the roof and all of that
Just do it. You may fail.
We are all just dopes trying to get another day out of the deal.
The more bolts you turn, the more parts you break.
The more parts you break, the less parts you break.
The only way to find the confidence to take on anything is to bust a knuckle and bleed for it brother.
It will hurt right up untill you figure how to do it without getting hurt.
And then, when you can fix anything?
That mastery of craft is so incredibly soul satistfying.
If you bring that block home and put it toghether on your own and it blows up?
That is not a failure my friend.
That is having the nuts to try.
The hard part about fearing that you might fail at something is the fear that you might fail at something.

Ill get into the whole brave dumb stupid self martyring thing later.
It was bad
