Need help on a 700R4 TV Cable setup

I have been struggling with my hand me down 92 Sierra 1500.Engine was taken out almost two years ago and just recently got an engine. The issue is that the new engine is a 96 Vortec and the throttle body setup is very different from the original 4.3. So my question is how can I get the 700R4 TV cable setup correctly on the new throttle body ?

Yes, you need the correct geometry for the TV cable to work right. At wide open throttle confirmed inside, throttle cable should be tight...then it's adjusted correctly. Otherwise, add the Sonnax "Spring Kit" on the end to add more line pressure during upshifts for holding. It's the belt and suspenders approach.
